March Break Goalie Camp Monday March 12 - Thursday March 15, 2012
Full Day Camp - 8:30am - 4:30pm 2.5 Hours On Ice Training Per Day Be ready for Try-Outs by attending our March Break Goalie Camp. Each on ice training session will start with 30 minutes of Goalie Specific Skating Drills & Crease Movement Techniques. This will be followed by 90 Minutes of Station Training built and customized for the goalies in attendance. Each session will conclude with 20 Minutes of Competitions and Battle Drills designed to encourage goalies to use all their skills in game situations. Goalies in attendance will be exposed to modern and proven training techniques that will improve their overall game heading into their try-outs. In this camp we will one again have a "Communication Station" -- Goaltenders are taught effective ways to communicate with their defence in a multitude of game situations. Areas of Focus

Book Early!! Have a Professional Goalie Coach to attend your team practice and work with your goalies. During the 10 - 11 season, McGuire Goaltending provided goalie coaches for over 50 teams in the GTHL + OMHA. Goaltenders repeat bad habits during team practices when they are not being watched by a professional goalie coach. It is just to hard for the team coach and assistants to focus on the development of the entire team and also help the goaltenders. Our coaches come to your practice and will ensure that your teams goalies are constantly improving during the season. Ideally our instructors would be able to have "Blue Line In" for at least 30 - 45 minutes alone with the goalies and then if needed you can incorporate them into the rest of the practice. Semi-Private Lessons
Semi-Private Lessons are one of the best ways to help increase a goaltenders confidence and overall skills. Goaltenders are placed in groups of 2 or 3 and each session is designed to meet each individual goaltenders needs. These lessons are the best way to maximize a goaltenders potential and have it then translate into success on and off the ice. Goalies will receive instruction using the most progressive and up to date save techniques with a focus on building strong fundamentals through muscle memory and positive reinforcement. INSTANT RESULTS - After only one session you will see a dramatic difference in a goalies footwork and ability to move in the crease. Consistancy and Repitition are key elements to learning and retaining any skill. For best results consider a package of 10 or 20 lessons Semi-Private Classes - February + March 2012

Private Lessons are available year round by appointment only. Monday - Friday from 6:15am - 4:00pm These one on one private lessons are a great way to focus on specific details of a goaltenders game. Private Lessons are based on 1 Hour time intervals but can be longer if requested. 1 Hour Private Lesson (Includes - Ice Rental + Professional Goalie Coach)

Customized Association Goalie Clinics McGuire Goaltending is the Official Goaltender Training School for the following Minor Hockey Organizations -
If your Minor Hockey Association / Organization would like to provide yearly, monthly or even weekly goaltender training development clinics for your organizations goaltenders McGuire Goaltending can design and run these for you. As an organization you would only need to supply the ice and organize the registrations. Our Professional Goalie Coaches come to you. In some cases Associations / Organizations provide this service to their goaltenders for free, but most will charge their goalies a reduced rate. (Compared to a goalie going on their own to a local goaltender training school) McGuire Goaltending charges a flat rate per clinic to the Association / Organization. This rate varies per group and is based on your location and the amount of staff that will be required. Clinics must be at least 1 hour in length in order to maximize their effectiveness. In some cases we will run a 1.5 hour session or back to back 1 hour sessions depending on the amount of goaltenders in your Association. In most cases, all ages and levels of goaltenders from novice to midget will train during a single session. The goalies would be grouped on the ice by age and level and would only train with those who are similar. Some larger Associations (Markham Waxers Minor Hockey) will provide 2 hours of ice and split the goalies by age - see below
Goalies are the most important component to team success. It is also the hardest position to master. Providing these clinics for your goalies will help provide consistancy and stability in the net for all your Association's / Organization's teams. Game Day Video Analysis Hire a MGHD Instructor to attend a game and video your son or daughter in the net. Our Instructor will then sit down with the goaltender at a second scheduled date and provide a detailed video analysis having the student involved every step of the way. Video is an amazing teaching tool. Another option is to video the game yourself and then schedule an appointment with one of our goalie coaches to sit down and review it with your son or daughter. Tremendous breakthroughs can be made when actually watching yourself play and receiving professional feedback at the same time. Rates - 1. Mail In Video Analysis Many Goaltenders live to far away to have one of our instructors attend and video a game. Goaltenders all across Canada have been sending us tapes to review and breakdown their play. With this option you can video the game yourself and then mail in or email the video to our office and an instructor will breakdown the game, provide a written analysis and have a telephone meeting to discuss what was seen. All you have to do is send us the DVD and a cheque made out to McGuire Hockey Inc. for $135 + HST = $152.55. McGuire Hockey Inc. |
